Cotton price in USD per kilogram (IMF). Cotton is the world's most used natural fiber and a critical input for apparel and textile manufacturing. The US, China, India, and Brazil are the major producers. Cotton prices are highly sensitive to Chinese demand, competing crop prices (corn and soybeans compete for acreage), and synthetic fiber substitution from petroleum.
