Here is how Brambles Ltd. (BXBLY) and Ferguson plc (FERG) have performed compared to their sector so far this year.

I maintain a Buy rating on Brambles, anticipating better-than-expected revenue and robust free cash flow expansion. The company's FY25 sales growth is likely to surpass management guidance, considering the FMCG end-market's defensiveness. The stock should offer an improved shareholder yield on the back of lower capital investments.

Brambles Limited (OTCPK:BMBLF) 2025 First Half-Year Results Earnings Conference Call February 19, 2025 6:30 PM ET Company Participants Graham Chipchase – Chief Executive Officer Joaquin Gil – Chief Financial Officer Conference Call Participants Owen Birrell – RBC Matt Ryan – Barrenjoey Peter Stein – Macquarie Jakob Cakarnis – Jarden Australia Justin Barratt – CLSA Anthony Moulder – Jefferies Andre Fromyhr – UBS Sam Seow – Citi Scott Ryall – Rimor Equity Research Cameron McDonald – E&P Graham Chipchase I'll start today by sharing some of our performance highlights for the First Half of 2025, an overview of the operating environment and an update on our transformation progress before commenting on our outlook for the full year. I will then pass over to Joaquin to provide a more detailed update on our financials.

Brambles' network effects and scale in logistics create a competitive moat, driving efficiency, profitability, and market share growth. The company benefits from resilient end-markets, with 85% of revenue from consumer staples, ensuring stability even during economic downturns. Financials show strong revenue growth, improved profit margins, and high returns on capital, justifying a "Buy" rating despite potential risks.

Brambles' favorable shareholder capital return and financial prospects support a Buy rating in my opinion. I expect Brambles to achieve a faster rate of top-line expansion and meaningful operating margin improvement in the future. BMBLF is returning more capital to shareholders in FY 2025 with an increase in its dividend payout ratio and a new share repurchase program.

My personal rating on Brambles is a strong buy, as I think that the company has been managing its debt reasonably well. As per my DDM model, the stock is undervalued, and has an upside potential of ~24.2% from the last traded price of US$18.89 (as on 4th June 2024). BXBLY has been managing its debt quite efficiently to support its operations. It has a low net debt to EBITDA ratio, while its interest coverage ratio came in at ~10.2x.
