Basilea receives further USD 6 million from BARDA to continue development of novel antibiotic ceftibuten-ledaborbactam
Ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 LR Allschwil, Switzerland, February 25, 2026 Basilea Pharmaceutica Ltd, Allschwil (SIX: BSLN), a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to meeting the needs of patients with severe bacterial and fungal infections, announced today that the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), part of the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, awarded USD 6 million to Basilea to continue the development of Basilea's novel oral antibiotic ceftibuten-ledaborbactam etzadroxil, a beta-lactam/beta-lactamase inhibitor (BL/BLI) combination, for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections (cUTIs), including pyelonephritis.
