Continental has improved profitability through cost savings, despite revenue pressure from OEM slowdown and macroeconomic concerns, particularly in Europe and North America. The automotive segment saw significant cost reductions and some pricing measures, though platform launch delays and OEM volume declines remain challenges. The tire segment is performing well, with stabilized truck volumes and a shift towards higher-margin replacement business and high-performance tires, offsetting OEM slowdown.

Germany's Continental AG on Tuesday said it would turn its ContiTech rubber and plastics division into an independent entity that would likely be put up for sale.

Continental AG's supervisory board on Wednesday formally approved plans for spinning-off the group's automotive business, which will have cash funds of 1.5 billion euros ($1.64 billion) before the process is completed.

Five tire manufacturers offering yields of up to 4.1% were evaluated using a relative quality matrix with factors including valuation, growth, profitability, net debt, yield, and payout ratio.

Continental appears undervalued, with a spin-off of its automotive business potentially unlocking value; pending debt allocation details are crucial for precise valuation later on.
